Fruit Tree Pruning Workshop

This workshop will cover the basics of fruit tree pruning and tool maintenance, and you will gain real pruning experience on our olive trees.

Abudu will be providing an in-depth look into tree structure and shape to best understand how to make the right cut and why. There will be a break after the educational portion and a vegan lunch will be provided for the attendees. We'll then follow up with hands-on training in which each participant will be able to practice pruning on an olive tree.

Time: 9 AM to 3 PM

General Schedule:

9am: Arrival & Parking

9:10 - 9:30am: Welcome Circle 

9:30 - 10:30am: Informational Lecture on Fruit Tree Pruning and Care

10:30 - 11am: Walk and talk in “Dryland” Agroforestry Area

11 - 11:30am: Olive Tree Demo

11:30 - 12:30pm: Practice Pruning with Feedback

12:30 - 1:30pm:  Lunch  

1:30 - 2:30pm: Practice Pruning with Feedback

2:30 - 3pm:  Closing Circle  

Cost: $125 Standard Pricing, with a pay-it-forward option that helps to fund scholarships.

A hearty vegan lunch will be provided.

We offer discounts for those who register early, as well as the opportunity to ‘pay it forward’ to those who can afford to sponsor others to attend on scholarships:

Refund Policy

A full refund will be provided if a student can no longer attend if we are notified by February 2, 2025. We can provide a refund of 50% up until two days before the workshop begins (2/7/25). However, due to preparation expenses, we are unable to provide a refund if a cancellation occurs within two days before the workshop begins.
