Learning Environment

  • The course will be held at MAMA TREE on our 20-acre family-owned orchard with the mission to increase biodiversity and the health of our ecosystem.
  • We will be walking the land for the first part of the day and then sitting down in the orchard near our animals to receive the basic theory on the various subjects involved in holistic animal care.
  • The day then heads into a hands demonstration where staff will show students the various techniques involved in holistic animal care, each student will then have the space and opportunity to take these techniques on for themselves to learn by doing.
  • We will then wrap the day up by giving the participants a time to unpack what they have learned by asking specific advice or general questions about their herd or flock in a Q&A style setting.

Meet Your Instructor

Logan

Logan is a whole systems thinker and the cultivator of conscious and creative systems. He has 10 years of global Permaculture practice and design working in each climate zone of the world. His passion for animal husbandry, years of experience in the industry and teaching PDCs is his greatest asset to Mama Tree educational programs. He understands how to make large complex fields of knowledge seem easy to grasp and to engage with helping him to guide people into the world of regenerative systems design.

Book learning is great, but when it comes to learning about comprehensive multi-input systems like regenerative farming, nothing beats seeing it in action. There is so much information about how it all works together that you can only get with your with your six senses & boots on the ground.
