Early Childhood Education, Lead Program Staff

Work With Us

Early Childhood Education, Lead Program Staff for Saplings

Email us your resume and a cover letter to apply: INFO@MAMATREEOJAI.COM

About Saplings:

Our “farm pod” is currently a 1-day/week, non-drop-off program that has grown sweetly and organically to 10 families (currently with children up to age 4.5) since its soft launch on July 3, 2024. The inspiration of Saplings is drawn from various approaches to outdoor education, like Waldorf and Forest School, as well as our passion for connecting the next generation to farm-life activities. The original intentions were to create a homeschool pod with several like-minded families that would allow their children to grow up together with pooled resources for land- and farm-based educational enrichment. The vision has expanded for this program to increase to multiple days (starting with 2 days, and organically increasing up to 4) with the option of drop-off for older children.

Position Objectives:

  • Establish and maintain a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children (currently ages 0 - 4.5 years).
  • Integrate farm-based and nature-oriented education into the daily curriculum to foster curiosity and hands-on learning.
  • Develop and uphold a structured routine that aligns with seasonal changes and farm activities.
  • Promote positive social interactions, guiding children through respectful conflict resolution and collaborative learning experiences.
  • Strengthen family and community involvement by maintaining open, consistent communication and hosting engagement opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and educational regulations to uphold program quality and sustainability.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and implement continuous improvements for future growth.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in early child education/ child development, ideally through outdoor learning, including Waldorf, Forest School models of education, and/or RIE models of respectful caregiving
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of working independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment while engaging effectively with MT staff as well as parents, addressing concerns and providing program insights
  • Flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and good problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational, communication, conflict resolution, and leadership skills
  • Ability to engage with CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Background with farm animals, permaculture, or regenerative or farm-based living is a plus

A note about housing for out-of-town applicants: Housing is not offered with this position and is notoriously hard to find in our high cost-of-living area. Please reach out to us if you need support in finding housing; we can reach out to our local networks but cannot guarantee finding anything for you.

Email us your resume and a cover letter to apply: INFO@MAMATREEOJAI.COM

Position is open until filled. This page will then be removed.

Please note: We are a busy farm and it may take us some time to respond; thanks for your patience.
